Vaspan smerdis was born in the month of cancer in 1973. He spent his childhood & teenage listening to music of some rock masters such as LED ZEPPELIN, KING CRIMSON, CAMEL, ROLLING STONES, QUEENSRYCHE, RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE, JUDAS PRIEST, PINK FLOYD, RUSH, ELOY, KISS, W.A.S.P & ... fertilized his musical mind & intelligence in this style.
The music albums: THE WALL (pink floyd), OPERATION: MINDCRIME (queensryche), PAIN KILLER (judas priest), TIME TO TURN (eloy) & ... are some of his favorite ones which has influenced him through music style & lyric concepts.Vaspan started his professional, academic activities in the feild of theatre as an actor & a playwright & has Continued this way till now.
what he used to search but not find in the world of music specially rock in its youth wasn't rich & meaningful in poetry of the most songs of this style, even some of the most professional ones.
This inadiquancy leaded to the sparkle of spiritual rock in his mind. A style that first relies on lyric concepts & the music. At the same time he discovered a depository of poetry of music poets of persian like Rumi, Hafez, Khayyam, Abue saeed abolkheir & Attar. In Vaspan’s opinion iranian poetry & it’s poets is such a valuable pearl that should be devided with all the people in the world (universe) & learn how to live truly with that.
In the thired period of his spiritual awareness in companionship with an ananymous master he got to know the devine facts & knew concepts of life, death, love, religion, god, satan & ... were defined to him. And now through new doors of devine facts & aquiring spiritual consciousness, he is walking into the world of music.
One of the biggest accomplishments in Vaspan’s life as he says, is connection & trying hard to access the mysterious massage of spiritual masters & great sufis not only in this letters but in the inspiration & daily life.
He believes the spirit of great other worldly masters in is always seeking the people desire for knowing the devine facts.
In the last years he made several songs which had never been published. The album’s “Ruined heart, Ruined state” that is his first album contains nine ghazals of Hafez (the great poet in the 14 persian century).
In his first serious step in the feild of his favorite music “spiritual rock”. He started recording this album with his friend “Sadredin Taheri” in 2005 & finished it in 2007. Sadri is a professional musician. Vaspan believes he was the only one that must understand his songs!
